Literatura uzupelniająca: docs.qgis.org/3.4/en/docs - Tutorial for Beginners with QGIS 3.4.
gis.com - a good overview of GIS and geographic thinking.
gisgeography.com – Information, features about GIS.
gislounge.com - GIS Lounge is an information portal, providing links to numerous news items, tips, and resources including introductory texts on all things GIS.
spatialanalysisonline.com - comprehensive guide to concepts, methods and tools, with many examples about GIS.
Metody dydaktyczne - inne: This course introduces the practice of geographic information systems (GIS), vector and raster data models, geographic data analysis and visualisation techniques.

Workshops will give students practical experience using QGIS to input, manipulate and output spatial and attribute data. Workshops are conducted in a way that enables students to work at their own pace by following a detailed set of instructions to complete the tasks with the instructor available for support. The practical sessions build basic skills in GIS such as adding, visualising, analysing and modelling data and creating effective map layouts.

This course will be taught in English; all assignments must be handed in in English language. Attendance at the workshops is expected and will be necessary to pass this course.

In order to fulfil the above aims you will:

be introduced to GIS theories and applications;
see and conduct many examples to work with the required software to demonstrate the value and use of GIS project management;
undertake regular tasks to practice the acquired skills; and
hand in a final project report on GIS.

Learning Outcomes

Understand the nature, components and applications of GIS;
Develop skills in sourcing, manipulating and interpreting spatial data;
Critically discuss the applications of GIS in a variety of fields; and
Perform spatial analysis tasks and generate outputs using GIS software.

Efekty uczenia się:

W_01 – student zna definicje stosowane w geoinformacji

K_01 – student posiada wiedzę i możliwości do samodzielnego wykorzystania różnych programów komputerowych oraz rozumie potrzebę wykorzystania nowoczesnych technologii informatycznych w naukach o Ziemi

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

The final assignment will be evaluated with the following criteria, and then the final mark will be calculated as follows:

50 % Correct Use of Methods

50 % Description and Presentation

The final assessment must be submitted on time until June 16, 2020 or will receive a mark of 2.

The standard grading scheme is used in this course:

0-50% niedostateczny (2)

51-60% dostateczny (3)

61-70% dostateczny + (3,5)

71-80% dobry (4)
